Fifteen start-ups pitched to win two travel grants to attend the Legal Geek Conference on October 17 in London.                                   It was incredible to be in Moscow to kick off the Legal Geek Around the World Tour and great to hang out with Nextlaw Labs and Nextlaw Ventures in another city! The scale of Moscow’s ambition to\u00a0create a startup hub \/ city\u00a0at Skolkovo was mind-blowing.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n

                                  The event in the evening, organised with the legendary Holger Zscheyge, showed a growing and buoyant\u00a0legal tech scene, comparable to all the European cities we visited last year in our 2017 European road trip<\/a>. We ended up with 15 startups pitching which was significantly more than we had expected. It is clear how vibrant and strong the startup ecosystem is in Russia. One to watch.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

                                  What is Skolkovo?<\/strong>\u00a0The Skolkovo Innovation Centre is a multi-billion dollar purpose-built city designed to stimulate innovation across Russia\u2019s economy. Located 30km to the west of Moscow’s city centre, it is home to around\u00a01,600 start-ups. Anton Pronin is Skolkovo’s LegalTech Director and recently told Legal Geek that Skolkovo is home to 15 start-ups related to LegalTech<\/a> with applications increasing dramatically in 2018.<\/div>\n
