We thought we should check in with Shruti and see <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the eight companies that will form Fuse \u2013 A&amp;O\u2019s tech innovation space based in their London offices<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Head of Fuse at Allen &amp; Overy, Shruti Ajitsaria, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is an impressive roster of companies, which span a variety of technologies and departments. We chose the successful applicants based on whom we feel we have natural synergies with. We\u2019re now preparing for Fuse to open so that we can begin to explore, test and develop the solutions that these companies offer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The stated aim of Fuse is to bring together\u00a0tech companies, lawyers, technologists and A&amp;O\u2019s clients to explore, develop and test LegalTech, RegTech and DealTech. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a press release announcing Fuse\u2019s launch, A&amp;O described the initiative as an \u201cintegral part\u201d of its \u201cadvanced delivery capability\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The eight companies joining Fuse were selected from amongst 80 applicants after participating in a pitch day in July. The Fuse selection committee included representatives from J.P. Morgan, Funding Circle, Amazon, Balderton, as well as A&amp;O participants. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The eight selected companies are<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nivaura \u2013 described by A&amp;O as the \u201centrepreneurs-in-residence\u201d at Fuse. Their team will help guide the other seven companies by sharing advice and business experiences whilst continuing to develop their own platform: an automated and vertically integrated cloud based service for the issue and administration of financial instruments by small and medium-sized issuers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalgeek.co\/startup-map\/avvoka\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avvoka<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 a digital platform incorporating a contract creation, workflow and analytics tool.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corlytics<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 a business providing regulatory risk intelligence, using forensic analysis and forecasting of fines and sentencing globally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">iManage<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (previously known as RAVN) \u2013 a business developing natural language processing and machine learning technology to organise, discover and summarise documents.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ithaca<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 a charitable not-for-profit enterprise aiming to create a mobile-responsive online technology platform to assist asylum seekers in gaining access to pro bono legal representation and advice.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalgeek.co\/startup-map\/legatics\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legatics<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 a company that turns \u2018paper and email\u2019 based legal processes into simple and innovative software.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Opus 2 International<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 originally a developer of litigation and transcript management software, now developing a tool to support lawyers with the prospectus verification process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vable<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 a provider of content aggregation, automation and intelligence software.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legal Geek Founder, Jimmy Vestbirk, added: <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe key with incubators and accelerators is striking the right balance between tech, innvoation, clients and culture, but most of all &#8211; people.
